Meetings do not need to happen inside around a table, and they
don’t need to take a long time. Instead of shutting yourself in a
stuffy room, take the conversation outside. Go for a walk - the
best meetings happen when there is a change of scenery, fresh
air and bodies are moving. Also, difficult conversations happen
more easefully in the open air. Even people who are interested in
the topic will start to disengage around 7-10 minutes in, so keep
meetings short and to the point. This will communicate to
everyone that their time is valued and valuable.
8. meetings do not need to
look like meetings
Meetings are indispensable when
you don't want to do anything.
– John Kenneth Galbraith
